Autodidacts Rejoice!

After searching for months, I have found what I believe to be one of the best resources for learning Greek while doing so on my own. This series (and all three books are REQUIRED) will enable you to grasp the basics of Ancient Greek in a very well thought out and accessible way.
If you are absolutely new to Greek I suggest starting with an introductory work such as Peter Jones "Learn Ancient Greek". Also, the authors recommend "The Oxford Grammar of Classical Greek" and "The Pocket Oxford Classical Greek Dictionary" as supplemental works and I heartily second that after going through the first part of the course.
Finally, unless you are going through these books with a teacher, I think the audio CD "Speaking Greek" is an absolute must for pronunciation. It is available on Amazon at the time of this review.
