Good but could use more.

The author makes a good case that the USA has a greater benefit from its relationships with other countries. The only issue I have with the book is frankly it really does not get to the meat of the argument until the first third is over. I know that other evidence can be illustrated with commodities that could add to this book. For example oil is priced in dollars but the flow of other currencies dictates the second variable. I know Haitians that told me that during the early 1990's embargo that oil caused gas to go up to $50 a gallon! In addition the book could have mentioned the ramifications of banking insurance and contract laws. Currently the insurance of depositors in the USA is more than 10x that of the Russian Federation. So to those institutions that have large sums it makes more sense to use banks that insure more of your money.
Can anyone name a major European Court decision? I can't. How about the Russian Federation? How about China (PRC)? For China it gets to be a bit interesting as until the Criminal Procedure Law in early 2011 self incrimination was legal as was illegally obtained evidence. Revolutions aside here the USA had the 5th amendment 12 year after founding. China has this after 62! In the long run if there is no real judicial branch and contract laws then the operations of a business are risky at best. Some might call the USA "sue happy" but if a business or individual is wronged civilly then what specifically is the recourse?
I am sure that some of these may be addressed in a future version.
