About the Author
Marquita Hill is currently Adjunct Professor of Urban Affairs and Planning at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Formerly of the University of Maine, she developed a number of environmental courses during her time there, including 'Issues in Environmental Pollution', an interdisciplinary introductory course. For seven years she was a visiting scholar in Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and was a founding member and first president of the Green Campus Consortium, an organization devoted to finding sustainable means of management for the state's higher-education institutions.

Very Helpful

I bought this book as a reference for a college project I did about air pollution. It turned out to be the most valuable resource I had. Hill presents sophisticated information in an easy-to-understand manner. This book also made me realize the huge connection between air pollution and many other issues that the world faces today, and it helped me create a straight-forward list of actions my class mates could take to lower their personal contributions to air pollution. I got an "A" on my project, and I have a much better understanding of how my everyday choices cause air pollution, the consequences of those choices, and what I can do about it.
Furthermore, even though I focused on the sections involving air pollution, this book also has great information on other types of pollution such as water and solid waste. It is a great introduction to the pollution problem and makes a wonderful resource for a project, an environmental science class, or just personal curiosity.

Great Book

I was required to use this book as a textbook for a class. This book is great. It provided me with easy to understand information on important aspects in enviornmental pollution. Pollution is a serious problem that we all need to take seriously. This book explains the seriousness of the problems we face globally and provides links to websites if you want to conduct additional research. It is a must read for anyone insterested in our environmental problems.

Best Schoolbook Ever?

I don't think I have ever actually enjoyed reading a school book before. Most likely, if you are reading this, the book is a required reading for your course. Have no fear, it won't be a struggle to get though. There is a lot to learn in here, and it is presented quite well.
