Haynes' book is an informative and entertaining overview of how to get an academic book published. He covers everything an author or prospective author needs to know. As one who's published several books, I was pleasantly surprised that I learned a number of things I didn't know. I now feel much better armed to tackle my next book-length project. I recommend Writing Successful Academic Books to both acadmic novices and veterans.
