About the Author
Michel Launey, now retired, was a professor at the Université Denis Diderot, Paris and the Institut de Recherches pour le Développement, Cayenne. He was a visiting professor at the Universidad de Guadalajara, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Yale University, among others. His other books include Introduction ... la langue et ... la literature aztèques (the French edition of this book, published in 1979), Une grammaire omniprédicative (1994) and Awna Parikwaki: Introduction ... la langue palikur de Guyane et de l'Amapa (2003).

as a mexican whose language is naturally infused with nahuatl, this is a must-read, in fact it follows the structure of a course tought in mexico. The description of pronunciation is accurate enough. This is a very good intro for anyone to learn.

This is by far the best book on grammar and the Nahuatl language out there. I have them all and this by far the best.

This is the BEST book to learn Classical Nahuatl

This is by far the best book to learn Classical Nahuatl. Out of all the books and other literature I have found on the subject, this contains the most detailed explanations and gives many many examples. My favorite part of the book is that each lesson contains exercises and you can check your answers in the Appendix. Also, the lessons are structured such that at there is a lot of repetition. I find myself knowing words just based on the repetition that occurs in the book. To understand the text, you do have to have a strong understanding of grammatical terms. But this is the most user friendly book I have found and I definitely recommend it.
